Arrival at Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP)

Train from the Airport

A direct train connection links the airport to Gara de Nord (Bucharest North Railway Station):

Travel time: approx. 25 minutes

Frequency: every 30–40 minutes

Tickets available online or at the airport

From Gara de Nord, taxis and ride-hailing services provide easy onward travel to the venue or hotels.


Official Taxis

Use only official airport taxis, ordered from the touchscreen terminals located in the arrivals hall.

Licensed taxis are clearly marked and display the price per kilometer on the doors.

Average fare to the city center: €8–12, depending on traffic.

Avoid accepting rides from drivers approaching you inside the terminal.


Ride-hailing services (Uber and Bolt) are also available directly from the airport and are often preferred for transparent pricing.


Getting Around the City

Metro: safe, reliable, English signage available; contactless payment accepted

Buses & trams: extensive coverage across the city

Peak hours: 08:00–10:00 and 16:30–18:30 (please allow extra travel time)


From central Bucharest, travel time to the venue is typically 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.


Passport & Visa Information

Passports should be valid for at least 6 months beyond entry.


EU/EEA nationals: Romania has become a Schengen Member State beginning with March 31st, 2024. EU nationals may enter Romania with a valid national identity card or passport. The passport must have been issued within the past ten years and be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.


Non-EU nationals: To enter Romania, they must have a valid passport issued within the past ten years and with at least six months left is required, along with a return ticket and sufficient funds for the length of stay.

Weather & Dress Code (Late August)

Late August in Bucharest is usually hot and sunny, with daytime temperatures of 28–35°C.

Light, breathable clothing is recommended

Comfortable walking shoes are advisable

A light jacket or shawl may be useful indoors due to air conditioning

Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended

Voltage: 230V / 50Hz

Plug types: Type C and Type F (European standard)

A plug adapter may be required for non-European devices.

Bucharest is known for having one of the fastest internet connections in Europe. In February 2021, it ranked 37th out of 141 cities worldwide for mobile internet speed, with an average download speed of 48.80 Mbps, ensuring reliable connectivity for both professional and personal use.
